Sabahans’ aspiration to develop in parallel with their fellow Malaysians in Peninsular Malaysia has failed to materialise, said Parti Warisan Wira information chief Francis Au.

“In the beginning, everything was fine, but unfortunately in the '70s, we lost more and more special privileges, and Sabahans' aspirations to develop along with our partner the Federation of Malaya has not been achieved until today,” he said in a press statement today.

The rights of Sabahans in Malaysia is actually guaranteed through the Malaysia Agreement 1963, he said.

That is what Warisan is fighting for, he said, to ensure that Sabah is recognised as a sovereign territory by the ‘Malayan Federation’ and that their rights as stated in the Malaysia Agreement are respected and implemented without compromise...
