Higher Education Minister Idris Jusoh expressed confidence of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) can improve its ranking to be among the world’s top universities.

He said, currently, UTM was ranked at 253rd among top universities in the world and aimed to be in the top 200 within one or two year’s.

"Overall, I am proud of UTM and I feel that it improve on its capacity and become a leading world university, especially with the support of its team of great professors," he told a media conference here today.

Earlier, Idris visited the Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGICX) at UTM which housed futuristic lecture rooms and the UTM-Huawei iLearning Cloud Showcase.
