Company belonging to Dr M's son raided

The Inland Revenue Board raided a company belonging to Mokzhani Mahathir, whose father Mahathir Mohamad had complained of persecution against his family and associates due to his attempts to topple dislodge the ruling coalition.

Mahathir's lawyers sought to postpone the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on the forex scandal until two of its members recuse themselves due to their previous involvement in the government's task force on the forex losses.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) wants only Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to debate Mahathir in the "Nothing to Hide" programme, stating that "street dogs" shouldn't debate the "top dog".

PKR is expected to summon its Kelantan chief over delays by the state party leaders in resigning from the PAS-led Kelantan government.

DAP legal bureau chief Gobind Singh Deo, who had accused the Registrar of Societies (ROS) of dragging its feet over the party's re-election, said the ROS had finally replied to DAP's queries.

PAS information chief Nasrudin Hasan said 1MDB should be given a chance to do damage control without political interference.

'Too Chinese' ECRL ceremony irks Perkasa

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak broke ground for the RM55 billion East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project in Kuantan.

Perkasa complained that the ceremony was too Chinese-centric with Chinese language banners lining the streets to the project.

Amendments of the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976 (LRA) was passed with the Dewan Rakyat without a proviso that would have ended unilateral child conversion.

Indira Gandhi, who had tussled with her husband who converted to Islam and did the same to their children, said she was devasted by the government's U-turn.

PAS MPs said Indira was not the only one to have suffered from issues with the LRA but Muslim converts have also suffered.

Prior to the passing of the amendments, DAP's Ipoh Barat MP M Kula Segaran made an impassioned speech asking the house to explain whether Indira's daughter - who was in the gallery - was a Muslim or a Hindu.

Father's rape charges drag on for hours

Prosecutors were not able to complete all 631 charges against a father who sodomised his daughter due to the volume, having only read out 182 charges after nine hours at court.

The large number of charges was due to the prosecution's knowledge that the father had routinely sodomised his daughter, around three times a day, based on the victim's statement.

Convicted fugitive police personnel Sirul Azhar Umar is expected to face indefinite detention in Australia as his application for protection visa will likely be rejected.

PKR's Subang MP R Sivarasa asked Finance Minister II Johari Abdul Ghani to explain a support letter he purportedly issued for a Bangladeshi migrant worker operation which was allegedly not licensed to do outsourcing work.

Three PKR leaders were ordered to enter their defence for participating in the Kita Lawan demonstration in March 2015.

PKR's Kelana Jaya MP Wong Chen claimed he was vindicated after his allocations were unfrozen by the Selangor government.

Fuel price rose for the third week with a five sen increase for RON95 and seven sen increase for RON97, bringing the new price to RM2.12 per litre and RM2.39 per litre respectively.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim is set to testify at his daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar's defamation case against the Rural and Regional Development Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Parliament will sit for the last day for the current session and all eyes will be on whether PAS' private members' bill motion on Syariah offences will be debated.
