Najib, foreign investors are not your average kampung folks

1MDB critics blew up issues to topple gov't, Najib tells investors

Vijay47: Certain politicians had blown issues surrounding 1MDB out of proportion in an attempt to topple the federal government, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak told a group of domestic and foreign investors.

First of all, Najib, if there was any “blowing up” done, it was that of an unfortunate Mongolian woman. Remember her?

But I digress. When you proudly claim that you have "given instructions for a rationalisation of the company's operations", you again suggest that the lark is on the wing, God is in his heaven, and everything is A-OK with 1MDB.

Of course, despite the whole world being aware of the contrary, you still desperately cling to that Arabian fable that nothing is missing from 1MDB, that the cooked goose does not contain any fat Chinaman, yachts, billions in moolah, actresses, or pink diamonds.

In broadcasting your track record and countless achievements, you seem to have found much fault with a certain nonagenarian. Who knows, you may be right, he may be wrong.

Perhaps you should accept his invitation to the “Nothing to Hide” public debate showdown and give him the coup de grace. Do you dare?

Sarawakian: Najib, now I know sleepless nights have taken a toll on you. You totally lost it. Treating foreign investors like kampung folks.

It’s as if they don't read the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, or believe your babbling over the US Department of Justice (DOJ) suits.

Whoever asked you to address the investors must be tearing their hair out.

Aanair: Najib, to win my (and perhaps many more Malaysians) confidence in you and your government, please do the following:

First, declassify the Attorney-General’s Report on 1MDB.

Second, respond openly to your critics.

Third, take the opportunity to speak out at the "Nothing to Hide" forum.

Fourth, sue everyone who defamed you and family in an open court. Malaysians are waiting for this opportunity to hear from you directly.

Even the French government has indicted two of its senior officers in the Scorpene submarine and this too links to Najib and his cronies.

There have been too many international issues that reflect negatively on Najib, and yet he is so afraid to sue those he claimed defamed him. So please ask yourself if what he said is true or false?

Anonymous 2436471476414726: Najib, we just want some honest answers on the 1MDB and SRC International scandals, and how RM2.6 billion ended up in your private bank account.

This is nothing to do with trying to topple the government. You have not come clean on the subject, and until you do, we will continue to seek answers.

And don't tell us the attorney-general had already cleared you of any wrongdoing. His actions have been contradicted by the related court cases in Singapore and the civil forfeiture filings by the DOJ in the US.

We want you to declassify the Auditor-General’s Report on 1MDB and show us without delay the audited financial statements on 1MDB for the last three years which are still pending.

Nobody is “blowing up the issues”. Nobody is trying to “topple the government”. This is just a weak defence because you cannot refute with facts and evidence the allegations against yourself and 1MDB/SRC.

Lemang Kunyit: Does Najib realise that he is actually frightening away the foreign investors by not telling the truth about 1MDB?

Najib can promise the sky, but until DOJ’s actions have been wrapped up, no foreign investors would be keen to invest here.

Anonymous 2443871479002035: “Blown the 1MDB issue out of proportion”? What cheek!

Several countries have taken action including US, Singapore and Switzerland, culprits have been fined and jailed after court hearings, and you say the issue has been "blown out of proportion"?

What has indeed gone beyond imaginable proportions is the alleged looting of the 1MDB coffers.

Chipmunk: Dear fellow investors, this has been the same old lame excuse given by Najib aka Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) since the day this case was brought up by Sarawak Report.

The modus operandi of MO1 together with his henchmen has never changed for the better.

If MO1 insists that he is innocent and guilt-free, why is he hesitant to sue the DOJ, the Swiss government, or even the Singapore or the UK government?

Hang Babeuf: He refuses to respond to or even acknowledge the DOJ materials. Is not answerable to foreigners, he says.

Then he refuses to answer the Parliament, obstructs and frustrates its due processes. This is what is known, politely, as "weaseling".

Is that what, in his and Umno's books, parliament is for? 1MDB must be covered over, and those responsible protected: even at the price of making Malaysia's a sham parliament and a sham democracy.

Don’t Just Talk: Najib, if you openly declare that critics blew up issues about 1MDB to topple the government, why do you still refuse to accept former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad's challenge to a public debate on 1MDB?

The public debate will provide you with a channel to explain to Malaysians what really happened to 1MDB, and you can also choose to rebut any false allegations.

Don't just talk, Najib. Just do it.
