The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today issued a warning that could keep those implicated in the Felda graft case awake at night.

MACC chief Dzulkifli Ahmad said the graftbusters may have been sluggish this past two months, weighed down by fasting and later indulging in various Aidilfitri delectables such as lemang.

However, Dzulkifli promised that these coming months would be more exciting.

"During the fasting month, we were a little slow. When Hari Raya came we ate a lot of lemang and were a little slow.

"But things have begun to heat up recently... This is just the beginning, and our investigations (into Felda) have just started.

"God willing, in August and September, it will be more panas (intense)!" Dzulkifli said in a fiery speech in Kuala Lumpur today.

He noted that he had ordered for the Felda probe to be re-opened on July 10, and that the MACC would take action against "traitors".

The MACC probe into Felda Investment Corporation's (FIC) purchase of a four-star hotel in Kensington, London, between 2013 and 2015 was reopened after the MACC found a new lead.

Two former real estate executives involved in the deal were yesterday remanded for six days to facilitate the investigations.

Earlier in his speech, Dzulkifli said he had given many warnings to the corrupt, but they did not heed them due to their greed.

He also renewed his vow that under his watch, the MACC would either investigate a new case or take one to court every week.
