MACC chief under fire

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution alleged Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad was trying to gain publicity and questioned whether he was out to become a politician or a celebrity.

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil rebutted BN's analogy that Pakatan Harapan was a ship with many captains, stating that the opposition was out to hunt down BN's "pirate ship".

Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak said Harapan was doomed to fail with the absence of PAS in the coalition.

DAP's Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto criticised Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for positioning himself as a moderate while at the same time endorsing the National Civics Bureau (BTN), which has been accused of fostering racism.

Penang PKR chief Mansor Othman alleged that voters were being shifted into four marginal seats in the state.

Jasa sees FGV conspiracy

Special Affairs Department director-general Mohd Puad Zarkashi alleged the existence of a conspiracy to make Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd chief executive officer Zakaria Arshad the "fall guy" in a boardroom tussle.

With Dr Mahathir Mohamad taking a leadership role in Pakatan Harapan, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak questioned if the former prime minister still stood by his accusation that Anwar Ibrahim, another leader within Harapan, was a sodomite.

Najib, at an event in Sembrong, Johor, showered goodies on its constituents and asked that they deliver the once impenetrable BN stronghold to the ruling coalition.

Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein said the party has prepared a guidebook to handle the run-up to the 14th general election.

Double gold at para games

Malaysia's para athlete Muhamad Ziyad Zolkefli smashed another world record in the men's shot put F20 event, winning the gold at the 2017 World Para Athletics Championship in London.

His fellow para athlete Abdul Latif Romly also delivered a gold in the men's long jump T20 at the games.
