Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua urged the Finance Ministry to come clean on the removal of 1MDB chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy from the board of the Bandar Malaysia and Tun Razak Exchange projects, querying what was the nature of the reported conflict of interest that led to his removal.

Arul was apparently opposed to the government’s decision to terminate the sale of a 60 percent stake in Bandar Malaysia to a consortium led by Iskandar Waterfront Holdings, according to a government source.

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man speculated that there may have been a fallout between Arul and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak will reportedly go to China to court the country’s largest real estate developer Dalian Wanda Group as the new developer of Bandar Malaysia.

Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown denied that it was her who had been harassing Rosmah, who was allegedly heckled in London.

Migrant exploitation in Forest City on radar

The government said it will conduct raids and legalise illegal workers in the Forest City project following a special report by Malaysiakini which found workers were brought in using social visit passes.

In the second part of the special report, Malaysiakini highlighted how some migrants workers from China destined for the Forest City project were cheated and struggled to even buy food.
