Follow BN consensus, says MCA leader on seat allocations

Federal Territories MCA liaison committee chairperson Yew Teong Look wants BN leaders to follow the coalition’s spirit of consensus.

Discussions involving seat allocations and candidate selection, he said in a statement today, should remain internal.

Yew said this in response to Bandar Tun Razak Umno chairperson Rizalman Mokhtar who stated that Umno could win the parliamentary seat if given the mandate to contest in the 14th general election.

Bandar Tun Razak, however, is a traditional MCA seat.

As such, Yew stressed that the candidate selection for seats must only be decided according to the BN consensus.

“All members of the BN coalition must follow and respect the BN spirit of consensus. Decisions are made only after consent and acceptance by all BN coalition parties,” said Yew...
