The Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim) has declared the activities of the notorious self-styled celebrity shaman Raja Bomoh, or Ibrahim Mat Zin, as haram.

In a statement today, Jakim director-general Othman Mustapha said the  fatwa committees of several states have determined some of the practices and ceremonies conducted by Ibrahim that used certain objects went against Islamic principles and were therefore "haram".
