YOURSAY | ‘Stop blaming or pushing the blame to others for the economic problems you had created.'

Stop the economic sabotage, Najib pleads

Martha: Why should the people want to sabotage their own country, Mr PM? There is no logic in your accusation.

Do you take the people for dimwits that they cannot see what is happening to this country under your governance?

Are you still in denial regarding the 1MDB scandal? You prove us wrong on 1MDB, only then would all the so-called sabotage stop.

Oscar Kilo: Najib, please identify the economic saboteurs. Don't speak in such general terms. As it is, we know who the real saboteurs are.

Anonymous 539281478077880: Economic sabotage can definitely paralyse the government. But we must know who are responsible for this.

Don't immediately blame the opposition. The facts put forward against the government must be openly discussed.

Although we have different political views, the many wrongdoings and wrong approach of the government have put the country at risk, and there are many who question the credibility of the leaders.

So, who do we blame?

Kazakh: Rubbish. The PM must come clean on 1MDB and declassify the Auditor-General's Report on 1MDB that had been classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

Besides these, he has to come clean on the many other financial dealings that had not been clearly explained to the satisfaction of the public.

Stop blaming or pushing the blame to others for the economic problems you had created.

Headhunter: There is no greater economic sabotage than by those who steal billions from the country and launder their stolen loot overseas and live extravagant lifestyles.

Lone_Star: Mr PM, please stop creating straw men, we all know who has sabotaged the nation and affected the economy.

Mosquitobrain: Probably multinational finance company Goldman Sachs was the only successful foreign company that was able to make billions within a short time frame in Malaysia.

Others have failed and withdrawn, thanks to Najib and his brainchild, 1MDB. Who is sabotaging the nation economy?

Who else can Najib blame? He should have asked, who gave the order to classify the auditor-general's report on 1MDB under the OSA.

At the same time, under his leadership, the nation's debts (with heavy borrowings to pay off 1MDB debts, wastage and BR1M) has escalated by leaps and bound (to RM655.7 billion).

Coupled with low foreign direct investment (FDI), low crude oil prices, depreciating ringgit, widespread and massive corruption happening in broad daylight, all these factors are of national interest and are sabotaging nation's economy.

RM2.6 Billion Turkey Haram: Najib, the last thing Malaysians would want to do is to sabotage the economy of the country. At the moment, the person who is impeding the growth of the economy is your good self.

Your brainchild, 1MDB, is the stumbling block to future investment, as long as the scandal, of which you are allegedly involved, is not solved.

Prudent: We should do as he says, that is, don't sabotage the economy and indulge in 'negativity', but not do as he does. However, I do not regard harping on and on, and getting to the bottom of 1MDB as 'negative'.

It is in fact positive, since investors can observe that there are many 'watchdogs' alert and barking at all actual and potential kleptocrats.

Anonymous 2457571486440266: Being both prime minister and finance minister, and then plead for others to stop 'economic sabotage' when you yourself are the individual in control of the economy, seems to completely render yourself fully incompetent.

That is the same as admitting your own failure.

Bob The Builder: Indeed, it is most ridiculous for a PM to make this kind of shallow statement, when in actual fact, he is the person behind a lot of the problems in the country, causing the country and the people to suffer.

RCZ: As far as we can see, the only ones sabotaging the economy are the ones responsible for the alleged theft in 1MDB, the crooked deals in Felda, Mara, Tabung Haji, and with China and so on. Malaysians and foreign investors are not stupid.

N1: Be upfront on monies allegedly stolen from 1MDB, and the country will have a brighter future. No investors would want to invest in a country that is managed by corrupt officials.

Someonroutthere: In every organisation, when the health of the organisation is in bad shape, the first place to check and rectify the cause is the management office.

And in most cases, that's where you would find the cause of the rot. An honest CEO (chief executive officer) would do the right thing to make way for another. We have a rogue CEO who stubbornly clings on and needs to be removed from office.

The best way to do this is in the next general election. Until this happens, the healing cannot start.

Worldly Wise: When the Wall Street Journal exposed that RM2.6 billion had been deposited into Najib's personal bank accounts in 2016, he ought to have resigned without batting an eyelid.

He could have then saved the country. He could have then acted to clear his name.

Hardboiled: The economic sabotage will end when MO1 (Malaysian Official 1) resigns, and BN is removed.
