Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak continued his “selfie-diplomacy”, by snapping a photograph together with Saudi Arabia's King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The selfie was posted on the premier's official twitter account with the caption: "My selfie with King Salman, custodian of the two holy mosques! A very close friendship."

Najib has often taken selfies with renowned world leaders such as former United States president Barack Obama, as well as public figures like Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.

Others whom the prime minister has asked to take a photo with include his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong, Indonesian president Joko Widodo, and pop-star Usher.

King Salman began his four-day state visit to Malaysia yesterday.

It is his first visit to the country since ascending the throne in 2015.
