Are PKR and Bersatu playing into hands of an Umno ally?

YOURSAY | 'It would be a mistake if PKR and Bersatu accept this invitation. They are so confused, let them continue to be confused.'

PAS to hold 'mega' opposition ceramah, sans DAP and Amanah

Ljwong: By showing the pictures of PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Parti Pribumi Bersatu president Muhyddin Yassin while PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's picture is noticeably absent, they are leaving backdoor open for dealing with Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) later on.

It is a ploy to split the opposition especially PKR and Bersatu from DAP and Amanah. It is obvious PAS is the "musuh dalam selimut" (enemy within) who is doing Umno a big favor by creating a rift in the opposition ahead of the next election.

I hope that Wan Azizah, Muhyddin and Mahathir will not fall into this trap.

Kawak: This ceramah is to neutralize PAS' pro-Umno stance in the recent gathering against Myanmar in the eyes of their supporters. PKR and Bersatu will be played out by PAS again. Why is Abdul Hadi not present at this mega ceramah?

Voice: Look like PKR and Bersatu are having their own headache on how to form a formidable coalition. But at the end of the day a coalition that can deliver is the formidable "winner" coalition.

If PAS wants to accept PKR and Bersatu, the condition must be that they are prepared to dump Umno, that is unless Umno comes up with better concessions.

But can a coalition of PAS, PKR and Bersatu deliver without DAP? Furthermore, the non-Muslim votes to PKR will reduce drastically if they drop DAP and form a pact with PAS. The coalition of PAS, PKR and Bersatu will be one capable coalition but will never be a formidable "winner" coalition.

RCZ: PAS wants to flex its muscles. But they really have no fixed agenda. The just want to show that their own dedak eaters will attend ceramah blindly and they will tell the world that they have support.

The point is not the support but intelligent support. They shut out their own fellow Malaysians who want the best for Malaysia and then they expect their supporters to support them blindly.

Wake up supporters! Realise that PAS is using you to bargain with Umno and Bersatu.

Francis_14a3: It would be a mistake if PKR and Bersatu accept this invitation. They are so confused and let them continue to be confused. A decision has to be made: Just dump PAS.

Ghostwhowalks: Is Selangor PAS having cold feet before GE14? They seem to be being nice to PKR and Bersatu to allow them a free ride in GE14. Ha ha. You will never get the non-Muslim votes again, so you will be doomed and into oblivion cause Amanah will take over!

MP: Heads must roll over attempt to ‘cheat’ Pisa scores

9174382725382: Every sector in Malaysia, from education to health, is going down. Like an onion peeling off piece by piece until one day, it's not that Malaysians realise they're far behind but others have gone far ahead of them.

It's sick and not likely to recover unless some drastic reforms in the governance of public officials

Anonymous_40f4: Every year, we hear of leaks in national exam questions. What about the results? Is there no cheating or manipulation or editing of the results? In Malaysia anything is possible, especially if you can afford to pay the crooks.

Ex-PJ: Cheats galore in Malaysia! This is not a surprise. If the PM cheats, the rest will follow, especially those in government. The saddest part of the entire episode is that instead of getting rid of the crook, the party is supporting them because of "donation politics".

Kawak: If these officials can cheat on such matters, what about statistics on other government programmes, KPI or economic statistics? When the integrity of government data is at stake, the public and stakeholders lose confidence and faith of the outcome.

Abasir: The standard and process for cheating, lying and then trying to cover up was first established by the thief before, during and after the 1MDB crime. The Ministry of Education (MOE), being an obedient servant and having noted that there are no consequences for such clandestine activity, simply followed the leader.

NNFC: This is the government we have. Instead of looking at raising the standard of education, they are busy looking at how to cheat the system. Malaysia boleh.

Nazri denies cabinet, gov't behind using Sosma on Maria

Headhunter: If what Nazri is saying is true, this goes to show how dangerous Security Offences (Special Measures) Act is. A rogue police chief or one who is politically biased for whatever reason can abuse it by using it on people who are considered to be politically opposed to his own personal political view.

It is very irresponsible for Nazri to dismiss it now because was personally responsible for passing the law which now proves critics right in that its purpose was to enable the government to persecute all those who are a threat to them. To put it simply, he either broke his promise or deliberately lied to the rakyat.

Patriot1: Isn't the police controlled by the government? You mean the Home Ministry has no say over what the police do? There is not even any competent person in the government to correctly advise the home minister? Doesn't the attorney-general know how to advise the inspector-general of police?

Sometimes it's better to keep quiet instead of making a fool of yourself especially when you are trained as a lawyer.

Wg321: Allegations that Bersih had received funds from abroad linked to billionaire George Soros does not make Maria Chin Abdullah a terrorist like Noordin Top or Azahari Husin who masterminded the Bali bombings and the 2003 Marriott Hotel bombing in Jarkarta.

Is billionaire George Soros also a terrorist? He even donated money to the Palestinian cause. It make no sense to detain Maria Chin Abdullah under terrorism laws. By the way, who is the IGP's boss?

Wong SL: It is amazing that the government is not brave enough to admit its mistakes and prefer to shift the blame to civil servants whose duty is to follow orders from the executive.

If it is a genuine mistake, admit it. Don't shift the blame whenever there is a huge outcry from the rakyat and international groups.
