Tian Chua,Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor, Saari Sungib and Hishamuddin Rais have been sent to the Kamunting detention camp in Perak on orders of the Home Affairs Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

It is learnt that families of the four ISA (Internal Security Act) detainees were informed about the transfer by a senior police officer from the Special Branch yesterday.

Keadilan leaders Mohamad Ezam, 34, and Saari, 43, Chua, 37, were arrested together with social activist Hishamuddin, 50, on April 10 when police launched a crackdown that eventually saw a total of 10 opposition leaders and reformasi activists detained.

Mohamad Ezam's wife Bahirah Tajol Aris when contacted, confirmed that her husband had been sent to Kamunting.

She said that she received a call from a police officer this afternoon informing her about the transfer.

To date, three of the detainees have been released while the fate of the others remains unknown.

The Shah Alam High Court on May 30 ordered for the release of Abdul Ghani Haroon and N Gobalakrishnan, ruling that their detention was unlawful and mala fide .

Yesterday, police released Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin.

The others still in detention are Keadilan leaders Dr Badrul Amin Baharom and Lokman Noor Adam, and human rights activist Badaruddin Ismail.

Police had said, following the initial arrests, that the detainees were planning to overthrow the government through 'militant means'.
