Blogger Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, who up to last year was Umno Youth exco member and led the wing's New Media Unit, has accused PKR candidate Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail of lying about her husband's links with MH370 pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah.

This follows a report in The Star quoting Wan Azizah as saying that her husband and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim had no links with Zaharie, other than the fact that the pilot is a PKR member.

Tun Faisal ( right ), quoting the blog of TV3 journalist Mazidul Akmal, featured screenshots of Instagram posts by the PKR couple's daughter-in-law Syaheedah.

In one of her posts, which include the Anwar and Wan Azizah doting over their baby granddaughter, Syaheedah said Zaharie is her uncle.

"PKR's Kajang candidate is caught lying twice, inconsistent with the tudung-clad loyal wife image she projects," Tun Faisal wrote.

Wan Azizah was asked at the press conference yesterday if Anwar had any links with Zaharie.

This follows a UK tabloid report that Zaharie was a "political fanatic" and attended Anwar's sodomy verdict hearing hours before piloting MH370.

"There is none (ties between Zaharie and Anwar). There are many PKR members," the PKR president had said.

Meanwhile, Mazidul on his blog frowned on the actions of Wan Azizah and Anwar in seemingly trying to distance themselves from the pilot.

Mazidul said the search of the houses of the pilot and co-pilot Fariq Ab Hamid by the police was just procedure and did not mean the duo were in the wrong.

"If it is fated that Zaharie returns with all 239 on board the flight, I am sure he will be hurt.

"'Datin Seri and Datuk Seri don't know me? I am your daughter-in-law's uncle. My name is Zaharie.'

"Maybe that is what will be said by the experienced pilot," Mazidul wrote.
