vox populi small thumbnail 'Everybody who does not agree with Umno's version of Malay supremacy is either a Jew, a Christian, a Wahabi, a communist or what not.'

National Security Council told ex-Perlis mufti a threat

Dood: So terrorism is the bogeyman now? The demonising of the Christians, Jews, communists and foreign agents are not enough to convince the people?

The Umno/BN government is truly scraping the bottom of the barrel in trying to put others in a bad light. This is not a government that is looking out for the people. This is a government in desperation.

Petestop: Everybody who does not agree with Umno's version of Malay supremacy is either a Jew, a Christian, a Wahabi, a communist or what not.

Beetle: Why is it that whenever someone speaks up against the corrupt BN government, they are a threat to the nation? Are these people actually a treat to the nation or a threat to Umno? Do you really take the rakyat as fools?

DannyLoHH: Is this Malaysia that I am living in? Why is it sounding more and more like Russia during the Stalin era or that of Germany under Adolf Hitler?

First we have the PSM 6 accused of trying to revive communism; then Bersih was linked to foreign Christians organisation and Jews; and now we have an ex-mufti accused of being a terrorist?

All this without any evidence to back up the allegation. Would someone please tell these people to stop running the country down?

Gen2: The 40 Umno ulama also considered as a security threat? What a joke. Umno appointed them and placed them in the front row to show an Islamic facade, while continuing their sinful ways in the backroom.

When the ulama tried to correct their sinful ways, Umno tries to shut them up by calling them terrorists because they refuse to play by Umno's script.

Black Mamba: The decline of BN government's popularity is always blamed on dissenting views. Any ideology that goes against the government's opinion is deem to be a threat, terrorism or waging war against the king, and dissenters eventually roped in under EO or ISA.

What is coming to Najib Razak's administration? A foreign lawyer who was here to give a talk on the sleaze in the Defence Ministry is quickly refused entry by the Immigration and causes enough alarm for the PM to cut short his holidays on the pretext of staying close with the citizens.

Why use the government machinery in wanton ways to secure one's own dark secrets?

Joker : So the Saudi government is now a threat to Malaysia? What are all those Saudi tourists and Saudi money doing here, then? Better do a William Bourdon on them and deport them all back.

Bank Negara should then close down Al-Rajhi Bank and Kuwaiti Finance House and whatever Saudi-linked banks there are in Malaysia. After all, those banned ulama may be drawing their salary from these banks .

Swipenter: Umno is afraid of its own shadow nowadays. They are their own worst enemy. The sins committed by Umno against the people of Malaysia are beginning to haunt them.

Everyone is their enemy in their blinkered eyes; non-Umno Malays, Chinese, Indians, Dayaks, Kadazans, Westerners, Jews, Christians, communists, socialists, democrats, liberal and moderate Malays, non-Umno Muslims... Just about everyone.

Malaysiasakit: This is a land of imagined enemies and of security threats. We have heard of threats in the likes of American Jewish agents, foreign forces, Christians, communists, yellow T-shirts, machete wielding 15-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah and colour-coordinated-parang carrying Bersih supporters.

So Wahabism is the latest twist? Thanks for the humour. What would we do without the IGP (inspector-general of police) constantly tickling our ribs.

Serdang MCA leader leads demo over TBH

DannyLoHH: MCA has lost all credibility, and with it, all the Chinese support. This is a last-ditch effort by the Serdang MCA leaders to shore up Chinese base support, but it will not work.

Allan Liew Sin Kim has guessed it right that Teoh Beng Hock will help him win some Chinese support. But alas, he is acting too little, too late.

Also, people will not so easily forget that MCA is behind the 1Malaysia NGO that had manhandled Teoh's sister in a by-election, preventing them from bringing up the issue of TBH untimely death. Ask any Chinese in town, and you will know what the MCA's image is now.

Lulu: I read it in the Star , too. They ‘forgot' to mention that Liew is a Serdang MCA leader. It's disgraceful how this ‘friend' of TBH crawled out of the wormhole.

Clear water: I've never seen anything so blatantly cynical. Even coming from a political reptile like Liew, his action is contemptible.

Why not demonstrate in front of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's headquarters if you really care for Teoh? There's where the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) squarely laid the blame for his death.

Koh Stanley Columnist: This is all part of the ‘sandiwara' campaign of Selangor MCA public complaints and service bureau's strategy to win back MCA seats in Selangor, trying to turn the tables against TBH's boss Ean Yong Hian Wah.

How many of these MCA Serdang goons attended the memorial services of TBH? Do you think MCA Serdang leaders care about TBH's death and the verdict?

These goons are the real culprits ‘politicising' the issue and this showed that MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek's accusation that the opposition has been politicising TBH's case is a complete lie.

Karma: Can MCA be held responsible for not acting effectively by allowing Umno and Perkasa to spew hatred against other races? Why don't they demonstrate against Ibrahim Ali for threatening the Chinese last month?

Anonymous: Liew, your ‘concern' for Teoh is a cheap publicity which will move no one, and get you nowhere. MCA is bankrupt when it comes to principles and ideas on where it stands in respect of TBH. It would have been wiser for you to have kept silent than to open your mouth and lose more points for MCA.

There is a genuine anger and disgust amongst the people over the heavy handedness on the part of MACC in dealing with the case. MACC seems more concerned about the speck in TBH's eyes when they have a log in front of them.

Eric Koay: MCA is now the Malaysia Clowns Association. There was that clown Dr Liow Tiong Lai who said the wind blew the tear gas into hospital. Another clown, Soi Lek, who said he can summon 10,000 supporters at a moment's notice.

Now we have this Serdang MCA clown who thinks Selangor exco Ean Yong should be responsible for TBH's death.

By the way, I thought MCA is against demonstrations?
