Malays prefer PN, Umno no longer relevant - Muhyiddin
1:30am: Shah Alam, Selangor - PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin calls Umno's relevance into question, noting his coalition's inroads in Malay-majority seats and that Umno had won only 19 of the 108 seats it contested.
"PN's roaring success in garnering Malay support shows that PN is now the main political platform for Malays. Umno is no longer relevant when it wins only 19 of 108 seats it contested, meaning it has suffered a resounding defeat in losing 82 percent of those seats," he says.
He also opines that a higher turnout in Selangor could have helped PN wrest control of Selangor, in contrast to Selangor caretaker menteri besar Amirudin Shari who believed it could help Harapan secure a two-third majority in the state.
Muhyiddin: Results huge wave calling for change
1:20am: Shah Alam, Selangor - PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin says the election results are a clear sign that the rakyat desires change.
"There is a huge wave calling for change," he adds.
He says PN will implement manifesto promises in the state it has won, but will not neglect its responsibilities in states where it lost.
Amirudin: Things could have been different
1.05am: Klang, Selangor - With Harapan just four seats shy of securing a two-thirds majority in Selangor, the state's caretaker menteri besar Amirudin Shari says things could have been different.
He notes there are four seats where Harapan was defeated by a margin of fewer than 600 votes, and the situation could have been turned if voter turnout was a few percentage points higher and a few policies were explained earlier.

In the meantime, lawyers will scrutinise the electoral results in places where Harapan lost by razor-thin margins, such as Taman Medan and Gombak Setia.
MB again? Sanusi leaves it to party
1am: Alor Setar, Kedah - Newly minted Jeneri assemblyperson Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor says that he is not privy to whether he would be on the list of PN’s menteri besar candidates.
“That will be settled by the party, it’s in the midst of being organised,” he says during a press conference.
Asked if he hopes to retain his menteri besar post, Sanusi says it is his PAS’ discipline to never ask for positions.
Sanusi also says that he had predicted the 33 seats PN won and that it signified the validity of what his critics considered a backdoor government.
He adds that it is a good sign that PN made inroads in other states such as Selangor, Penang, and Negeri Sembilan.
Sanusi also claims that the “entire rakyat” hopes for a change in the federal government.
Kedah govt won’t mistreat opposition - Sanusi
12.43am: Alor Setar, Kedah - Kedah PN chief Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor gives his assurance that the soon-to-be sworn-in state government will not mistreat the opposition.
“To our Harapan-BN friends, we will form a government in Kedah. We promise to continue to be fair, loving and rich with ‘ehsan’ as espoused by Allah.
“Islam will be the guideline for us to build a country and a government.
“May the good go to Allah,” he says at Komplek PAS in Kota Sarang Semut.
This is a ‘beautiful’ victory, says Aminuddin
12.40am: Seremban, Negeri Sembilan - Caretaker Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun describes the results for the state polls as “beautiful”.
He notes how this landslide victory arose from the collaboration of two former foes - Harapan and BN.
Asked about the menteri besar post, Aminuddin downplays the issue.
“I think there is no problem, just like what the prime minister announced,” he says.
Prior to this, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that Aminuddin will be retained if Harapan-BN win the state.
The caretaker menteri besar also announces that Monday will be a holiday for the state.
Flying solo humble experience for Muda
12.31am: Muda admits the difficulty of going solo for the state elections, stating that the party is aware of the challenges from the very beginning.
However, its president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman says the experience was an essential stride for the party to showcase its ideals to the public.
“This is a very humbling experience for Muda and I am proud of our candidates.
“We take full responsibility for the outcome, of which we will continue to work harder, reiterate our commitment to voice out wrongdoings, and be the check and balance to both federal and state governments,” he says in a statement.
Muda loses all 19 seats it contested across the six states.
Zahid: Time to unite and work hard
12.30am: Petaling Jaya, Selangor - BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, whose coalition suffered massive losses except in Negeri Sembilan, says this is the time to unite and work hard to preserve unity and stability.
In a statement, the Umno president notes how the Harapan-BN alliance had retained control of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Penang.
“This mandate serves as the foundation for the parties in the coalition government to continue their cooperation and to consolidate the synergy to maintain the coalition government for the next five years,” he adds.
Zahid also congratulates the winners and thanks the people for exercising their democratic right to vote.
Fahmi: Results more or less expected
12:26am: WTCKL, Kuala Lumpur - Unity government spokesperson Fahmi Fadzil says the outcome of the election is "more or less as expected", given the findings of several research firms that were published in the run-up to the election.
He says the government will study the results of the election closely alongside additional information from the studies to have a deeper understanding of what transpired in the election.
In the meantime, he says the federal government will also look into its next steps, especially in terms of addressing the people's problems.
Crowd welcomes Sanusi at PAS complex
12.25am: Alor Setar, Kedah - Kedah PN chief Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor arrives at Komplek PAS in Kota Sarang Semut.
The Jeneri state assemblyperson is welcomed by selawat recital as well as chants of “takbir” and “Allahuakbar”.
Sanusi’s arrival is followed by newly elected Gurun representative Baddrol Bakhtiar.
An estimation of over 2,500 PN supporters floods the complex.
A PAS official announces that there will be a “Himpunan Mandat Rakyat” tomorrow night at Komplek PAS to celebrate PN’s victory in the northern state.
Kedah BN accepts defeat
12.20am: Kedah BN says it accepts its defeat.
Its state chief Mahdzir Khalid - who loses Pedu - also congratulates PN for winning 33 out of 36 seats in the state.
“I want to tell all Umno and BN members to keep calm and not point fingers at anyone.
"We have tried to win the hearts of the voters not only during the campaign but from the beginning. We have always served the people. But when the people decide not to vote for BN, we will rest with God's provisions,” he says.
BN loses all 15 seats it contested.
Harapan-BN keeps S’gor but only with simple majority
12.12am: According to official results, Harapan and BN manage to retain Selangor with a simple majority.
They win 34 out of 56 seats in the state assembly, with Harapan winning 32 seats and BN the remaining two.
Meanwhile, PN wins 22 seats.
PM: Battle over, time to cool off
11:55pm: WTCKL, Kuala Lumpur - Pakatan Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim urges all quarters to cool off and respect the democratic process.
"After the hard battle, perhaps the temperature can get quite hot. Now is the time to come together, maintain national harmony, and focus on improving the country and the people's lot. That is our focus," he tells reporters at the two coalitions' joint command centre for the election.

He pledges that the unity government remains firm and will continue to strive to develop Malaysia.
"InsyaAllah starting on Monday, we will continue to work not only as usual but even harder so Malaysia can create success that (we) can be proud of," he adds.
Both he and his BN counterpart Ahmad Zahid Hamidi decline to take reporters' questions.
Super majority for Harapan-BN in N Sembilan
11.54pm: Official results are out for Negeri Sembilan, confirming Harapan and BN’s super-majority in the state.
Harapan and BN get a total of 31 out of 36 seats in the state.
Harapan wins 17 seats, while BN is victorious in 14. Meanwhile, PN gets five seats.
Clean sweep for PN in Terengganu

They win all 32 seats in the state, completely wiping out Harapan and BN.

PN denies Harapan-BN’s two-thirds majority in S’gor
11.17pm: PN has unofficially denied the Harapan-BN coalition a two-thirds majority in Selangor.
PN has picked up 19 seats thus far, while Harapan and BN have 32.
This leaves just five seats uncounted, meaning Harapan and BN will not be able to get the 38 seats needed for a two-thirds majority.
Kelantan MB, exco expected to be sworn in on Aug 15
11.16pm: Kota Bharu - Kelantan’s new menteri besar and state executive council are expected to be sworn in on Aug 15.
State PAS commissioner and caretaker menteri besar Ahmad Yakob says a meeting will be held later tonight or tomorrow morning to discuss the matter.
“InsyaAllah (God willing) the menteri besar will be sworn in on Aug 15,” he tells reporters.
Previously, it was reported that PAS has decided to change the top leadership in Kelantan.
PN strengthens grip on Permatang Pauh
11.15pm: Permatang Pauh, Penang - PN retains its hold on Permatang Pauh, winning all three state seats in the constituency.
Permatang Pauh had long been the family seat of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim but was snatched from his daughter Nurul Izzah in last year's general election.
Chow to be sworn in as CM tomorrow
11:14pm: Georgetown, Penang - Penang Harapan chairperson Chow Kon Yeow says he will be sworn in tomorrow to start his renewed term as chief minister.

This is a result of the coalition successfully winning the majority of seats to form the state government.
Harapan obtains a two-thirds majority with DAP winning 19 seats, PKR (seven), BN (two) and Amanah (one).
Kelantan PAS announces victory, secures two-thirds majority
11.13pm: Kelantan PAS commissioner Ahmad Yakob announces the Election Commission confirmed that it has retained the state with a two-thirds majority.

“I express my utmost gratitude to the people for their support and apologise for any shortcomings. We pray to Allah that Kelantan continues to be blessed,” he adds.
Based on unofficial results, PAS wins 43 of the 45 seats.
Hilman keeps Gombak Setia
11.12pm: Gombak Setia, Selangor - It's official, PN’s Hilman Idham retains the Gombak Setia seat.
He wins with a razor-thin majority of 58 votes.
The independent candidate in the seat bags 1,076 votes.
Sanusi declares public holiday for Kedah
11.08pm: Kedah caretaker menteri besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor declares tomorrow a public holiday in the state.

This comes as unofficial results show PN will win a super-majority in Kedah, garnering 33 of the 36 seats.
The remaining three seats are won by Harapan.
Total wipeout for BN in Kedah
11.01pm: BN suffers a complete wipeout in Kedah, with 35 out of 36 seats counted.
Harapan wins two seats, while PN has a super-majority with 33 seats so far.
Only one seat remains undecided, Sidam, which is being contested by Harapan.
PN says they are demanding a recount in the seat.
Chow feels vindicated by Penang's results
11pm: Penang caretaker chief minister Chow Kon Yeow feels vindicated by the results, with Harapan-BN winning 29 seats.
He also notes that all the new faces fielded by DAP in Penang won, showing that the decision to field fresh candidates was right.

He says he had targeted to win 30 seats, but given the situation of politics today, he considers that the target has been met.
"Most importantly, we have a two-thirds majority," he says.
Super-majority win for PN in Kelantan
10.51pm: Official results are out for all Kelantan seats, with PN winning a super-majority of 43 out of 45 seats.
However, they are denied a clean sweep, with Harapan’s Amanah winning in Kota Lama and Umno-BN winning in Galas.
Recount in Sidam
10.50pm: Alor Setar, Kedah - A PAS official informs its supporters at Komplek PAS in Kota Sarang Semut that there has been a recount in the Sidam state seat.
However, it is unclear which party asked for the recount.
Sidam, a PKR stronghold, was contested by PKR's Bau Wong Bau Ek and PN's Juliana Abdul Ghani.

PN’s vote share grows

As of publication, BN has won zero out of 36 seats.

End of an era for Ahmad Said in Kijal
10.40pm: Terengganu Umno Liaison Body chairperson Ahmad Said fails to defend the Kijal seat he had held for nine terms.
The former menteri besar of Terengganu loses to PN’s Senator Razali Idris, who gets a majority of 3,758 votes.
Razali, who is also Terengganu Bersatu chief, garners 13,403 votes, while Ahmad who has held the seat since 1990, gets 9,645 votes.

Derga slips out of DAP’s hands
10.30pm: Derga, Kedah - DAP loses the Derga seat to PN.
DAP had held the seat for two terms since 2013.
Derga used to be a mixed seat, but there has been an increase in Malay voters in the constituency after automatic voter registration came into effect.
According to unofficial results, PN bags 14,433 votes, while DAP has 10,771.
Harapan-BN retains two seats in northern Selangor
10:29pm: Shah Alam - PN sweeps six seats while Harapan-BN manages to retain two seats in northern Selangor, according to unofficial results.
Sungai Air Tawar incumbent Rizam Ismail (Umno) and Sekinchan incumbent Ng Suee Lim (DAP) retain their seats.
Meanwhile, PN wins in Sabak, Sungai Panjang, Permatang, Sungai Burong, Bukit Melawati and Ijok.
According to unofficial results, Umno incumbent Mohd Imran Tamrin loses with more than 3,000 majority.
Zahid, Mat Hasan arrive at Umno headquarters

Speaking to reporters, Mohamad, who defended his Rantau seat in Negeri Sembilan, refuses to comment on who will be the next menteri besar.
Based on unofficial results, Harapan-BN has retained Negeri Sembilan.
As for the menteri besar candidate, Mohamad, who is popularly known as Mat Hasan, says it is up to the Umno president.

9.55pm: Shah Alam - PN Taman Medan candidate Dr Afif Bahardin leaves the Concorde Hotel where coalition leaders and supporters are gathered to head to the official results announcement.
A group of his campaign workers lifts Afif on their shoulders, cheering his unofficial victory against Harapan's Ahmad Akhir.
"As I promise, I will start work tomorrow," says Afif.
Some of his supporters shed happy tears, as one of them says their hard work, even without having a proper war room, still leads to success.
It's official, Harapan wins first state seat in K'tan
9.50pm: Kota Lama, Kota Bharu - Harapan finally gets a foot into Kelantan with its first state seat after its candidate wins Kota Lama.
Amanah’s Hafidzah Mustakim officially wins the seat with a 206 majority.
Hafidzah obtains 9,695 votes, followed by PN's Zamri Ismail with 9,489, independent candidate Izat Bukhary Ismail Bukhary (85) dan PRM's Tan Boon Kian (126).
Unofficial: Harapan-BN secures simple majority in Penang
9.50pm: Harapan-BN unofficially secures a simple majority in Penang.
Unofficial results show the coalition has won 22 out of 40 seats in the state.
Permatang goes to Noh Omar’s daughter
9.48pm: Nurul Syazwani Noh wins Permatang against Harapan's Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri with a slim majority of 1,728 votes.
Nurul Syazwani is the daughter of former Umno Selangor strongman Noh Omar.
Mohd Yahya made headlines during the campaign because he had spent time in jail for cheating.
Rina loses bid for Batu Tiga
9.40pm: Batu Tiga, Selangor - Bersatu Women chief Rina Harun loses in Batu Tiga to Amanah’s Danial Al-Rashid Haron Aminar Rashid, based on unofficial results.
Danial gains over half the votes in the seat with 27,434 votes, while Rina has 24,438.
Muda is a distant third with 1,652 votes.
Rina, formerly the women and family development minister, also lost her bid for the parliamentary seat of Sepang in the general election last November.
‘Thank you’ - BN’s Dusun Tua candidate
9.36pm: Dusun Tua, Selangor - BN’s Dusun Tua candidate Johan Abd Aziz thanks the voters in the constituency for his victory there.
Dusun Tua was won by DAP in the last election but the seat was given to BN to contest as part of Harapan’s new electoral alliance with BN.
Johan garners 26,894 votes, while PN candidate Azhar Hambali gets 23,509 votes.
Muda trails far behind with 3,110 votes.
Simple majority for PN in Kedah
9.35pm: PN has unofficially won in Kedah with 19 out of 36 state seats - securing a simple majority in the state.
PN declares the win at the Kedah PAS headquarters.
Harapan-BN says it has won Negeri Sembilan
9.32pm: Harapan-BN says unofficially, the pact has won 24 seats in Negeri Sembilan.
This means it has enough to form the state government. It needs at least 19 seats.
This was announced by the announcer on a live broadcast on caretaker menteri besar Aminuddin Harun's Facebook page.
The broadcast is live from Alson Kelana Hotel, Seremban, where the Negeri Sembilan Harapan-BN pact is following the results.
PN steals eight seats from Harapan-BN so far
9.25pm: PN has so far captured eight seats from Harapan and BN.
In Selangor, PN has captured Ijok, Morib, and Sabak from Harapan, as well as Sungai Burong from BN.
In Kedah, PN has captured Gurun and Alor Mengkudu from Harapan, and Sungai Tiang from BN.
PN has also captured Kuala Balah in Kelantan from BN.
Meanwhile, Harapan has captured Kota Lama from PN in Kelantan and won back the Lembah Jaya and Teratai seats.
Kota Lama falls to Amanah
9.20pm: Kota Lama, Kelantan - According to results from PAS, the party is set to lose the Kota Lama seat to Amanah with a slim majority of 202 with all ballot boxes counted.
Amanah’s candidate Hafidzah Mustakim gets 9,691 votes against PAS’ Zamri Ismail’s 9,489.
This is the first time Amanah wins a state seat in Kelantan.
First seat win for PKR in Penang
9.18pm: PKR wins Bukit Tengah, its first seat in Penang.
This brings Harapan's seat tally in the state to 19.
The coalition needs at least 21 seats to form a government.
Kelantan: PN leads in 42 out of 45 seats
9.11pm: Kota Bharu, Kelantan - Based on unofficial results, PN is leading in 42 of the 45 seats in the state.
Among the seats in which counting has concluded are Temangan, Gaal, Selising, Ayer Lanas, Kuala Balah, Manek Urai, Kijang, Chempaka and Panchor.
In Pasir Pekan, incumbent Ahmad Yakob, who is also the caretaker menteri besar, defended his seat with a 12, 235 vote majority.
His deputy, Mohd Amar Abdullah, retained the Panchor seat with a majority of 10,686 votes.
In the Kota Lama seat, Harapan’s Dr Hafidzah Mustakim won with a wafer-thin majority of 202 votes, defeating three other candidates.
Ultimate win for rapper Altimet
9.10pm: Lembah Jaya, Selangor - Rapper Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, better known as Altimet, manages to wrest back Lembah Jaya for Harapan.
The seat’s incumbent is Haniza Mohamed Talha, who won Lembah Jaya in 2018 under PKR’s ticket, but the former PKR Women chief was kicked out of the party in 2020.
Altimet is leading in the unofficial results with 25,353 votes, against PAS’ candidate Sharifah Haslizah Syed Ariffin who has 19,468 votes.
Chow keeps Padang Kota
9.10pm: Georgetown, Penang - Unofficial result shows caretaker chief minister Chow Kon Yeow successfully defends his seat in Padang Kota.
The total number of voters is 15,165.

Chow garners 8,261 votes and beats his opponents with a 7,116 majority.
PN’s Gerakan candidate H'ng Khoon Leng gets 1,145 votes.
Unofficial: PN beats Kedah BN and Harapan chiefs
9.10pm: PN has unofficially defeated the Kedah state chiefs for both BN and Harapan.
With 45 out of 53 ballot boxes counted, Kedah BN chief Mahdzir Khalid has only 6,891 votes compared to 12,050 for the PN incumbent in Pedu.
PN had earlier captured the Alor Mengkudu seat from Kedah Harapan chief Mahfuz Omar.
Ballot flashing: Cops receive no reports
9:07pm: Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur – After Kedah caretaker menteri besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor flashed his marked ballot paper earlier today, the police say it has yet to receive any report of such cases.
If there is a report, however, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain says it may be investigated as a possible election offence.
“As of 6pm, there are no such reports. If there is a report (someone) showed their ballot paper that has already been marked, it may be an offence that we can classify under Section 5 of the Election Offences Act 1954 on ensuring ballot secrecy,” he tells a press conference.
PN captures 3 seats in Selangor
9pm: PN has captured Sabak, Ijok, and Morib, from Harapan in Selangor, according to unofficial results.
With more than half of the votes counted, PN is leading Sabak with a 4,313 majority, Ijok with a 3,882 majority, and Morib with a 2,491 majority.
Dominic Lau defeated in Bayan Lepas
9pm: Harapan's Azrul Mahathir Aziz has declared victory against Gerakan president Dominic Lau in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
Azrul tells reporters that based on unofficial results, he has defended his seat with a slim majority.
"The last count (as I speak) shows that I am leading Lau with 2,454 votes.
"So far, there are 1,400 more votes to be counted," he says.
No celebration rallies, IGP warns
9pm: Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur – Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain reminds supporters of winning parties not to hold rallies or processions tonight to celebrate.
He also says the police will be setting up roadblocks nationwide at the stroke of midnight today, but claims this is merely a part of a monthly operation to prevent crime and maintain public order.

“We are not setting up roadblocks because of the state election. We set up roadblocks almost every month to deter crime and (maintain) public order,” he tells a press conference at the federal police headquarters.
Footballer Baddrol scores big in Gurun
8.55pm: PN has captured Gurun from Harapan.
With 74 out of 79 ballot boxes counted, PN footballer Baddrol Bakhtiar has 16,443 votes compared to 10,758 for Harapan.
Harapan's candidate Firdaus Johari had been fielded to replace his father Johari Abdul - who is now the Dewan Rakyat speaker.
Perai stays with DAP
8.50pm: Perai, Penang – Unofficial results show DAP successfully defending its seat in Perai, which was previously held by former Penang deputy chief minister II P Ramasamy.
DAP’s candidate Sundarajoo Somu is leading in the four-way fight with an overwhelming majority of 8,140 votes, leaving no chance for the other candidates to catch up.
This includes former DAP member David Marshel, who is aligned with Ramasamy and contesting Perai as an independent candidate after being excluded from DAP’s candidates’ list.
David has 1,313 votes, while PN candidate Sivasuntaram Rajalinggam from Gerakan has 1,388 votes.
Muda’s candidate Vikneswary Harikrishnan is trailing far behind with 345 votes.
Jeneri belongs to Sanusi with 13k majority
8.43pm: Caretaker Kedah menteri besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor wins the Jeneri seat, according to unofficial results.
He has a majority of more than 13,000 votes, with about 87 percent of the ballots counted.
Harapan close to forming state govt in Penang
8.42pm: Harapan now has 17 seats out of 40 in Penang. It needs four more to form the state government.
All seats were won by DAP.
DAP contested 19 seats in the state.
PN wins Sg Burong
8.41pm: Sungai Burong, Selangor – PN officially wins in Sungai Burong, its first seat in northern Selangor, with its candidate Zamri Mantop.

Northern Selangor is a key battlefield for PN in its mission to capture Selangor.
PN takes Sg Tiang from BN
8.40pm: PN has captured the Sungai Tiang seat in Kedah from BN.
With 82 out of 97 ballot boxes counted, PN has bagged 23,784 votes in the seat according to unofficial results, while BN is trailing with 8,586 votes.
PN wrests Alor Mengkudu from Mahfuz
8.26pm: Alor Mengkudu, Kedah - PN has captured Alor Mengkudu from Harapan, according to unofficial results.
With 56 out 68 ballot boxes counted, state Harapan chief Mahfuz Omar has been defeated after only obtaining 7,126 votes compared to 15,258 for PN.
Alor Mengkudu had been a rematch between Mahfuz and PN's Muhamad Radhi Mat Din - who squared off for the Pokok Sena Parliament seat in 2018 - with Mahfuz being the winner at the time.
Meanwhile, PN has also won in Pantai Merdeka, according to unofficial results.
No leaders in sight at Kedah BN war room
8.25pm: Alor Setar, Kedah - It’s completely quiet in BN’s war room - Bangunan Tunku - with the exception of media practitioners who have arrived as early as 6.30pm.

BN state chief and Pedu candidate Mahdzir Khalid is expected to make an appearance later tonight.
Muda splits votes in Dusun Tua
8.22pm: Muda is making an impact in Dusun Tua, Selangor by splitting the votes with about a quarter of the ballots counted.
The forerunners in this three-cornered fight are BN's Johan Abd Aziz with 19,569 votes and PN's Azhar Hambali with 18,720 votes.
Interestingly in this close fight, Muda's Al Hafiz Ikhwan Mohammad Assan picked up 2,438 votes.
Dusun Tua is located in the Parliament of Hulu Kelang and was in 2018 won by Harapan's Edry Faizal Edry Yusof with more than 10,442 majority.
A total of 58 percent of voters there are Malay.

First flipped seat in K’tan for PN
8.15pm: Kuala Balah, Kelantan – Unofficial results show the first seat to be flipped is Kuala Balah in Jeli, Kelantan.
PN manages to grab the seat from BN, with a lead of 2,430 votes so far.
PAS candidate Abdul Hadi Awang Kechil has 5,319 votes, against Umno’s Muhammad Yamin Anuar Mat Zin with 2,889 votes.
Sanusi set to appear at 9pm
8.12pm: Alor Setar, Kedah - State PN chief Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is expected to arrive at Komplek PAS in Kota Sarang Semut - where unofficial results are displayed on a large screen - at 9pm tonight.
Media practitioners have started arriving since 7pm.
There are only a handful of supporters in sight for now.
Juwairiya vs Azmin: Over 1k lead for Harapan
8.11pm: Harapan's Juwairiya Zulkifli extends her lead against PN's Azmin Ali by more than 1,000 votes in the much-watched contest of Hulu Kelang, Selangor.
She has 14,050 votes against Azmin's 13,065, with vote counting ongoing.
This is about half of all registered voters in this constituency
Galas stays with BN
8.10pm: Galas, Kelantan – The Madani alliance successfully denies PN a clean sweep in Kelantan, with BN unofficially holding onto the Galas seat.
BN incumbent Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim is on track to defend his seat, with 9,969 votes counted thus far, which is already more than half the votes.
His PAS opponent Mohd Tarmizi Abd Rahman has 6,545 votes.
Galas has 59.5 percent Malay voters, 13.58 percent Chinese, 1.05 percent Indian and 25.86 percent others.
Mat Hasan wins Rantau
8.08pm: Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan wins the Rantau seat in Negeri Sembilan, according to unofficial results.
He has picked up more than half of the votes in a straight fight against PN, with 80 percent of the ballots counted.
As it stands, he has a majority of almost 9,000 votes, with less than 5,000 votes left to count.
Guan Eng retains Air Putih
8.05pm: Air Putih, Penang - DAP chairperson Lim Guan Eng has unofficially retained his Air Putih state seat.

Unofficial results have Lim leading with 8,032 votes against 746 for PN.
Juwairiya takes the lead in Hulu Kelang
8pm: Harapan's Juwairiya Zulkifli has stolen the lead from PN's Azmin Ali in Hulu Kelang.
She leads by about 500 votes, with less than 10 percent of votes counted.
Loke victorious in Chennah
7.55pm: Chennah, Negeri Sembilan – DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has unofficially won in Chennah, where he has served since 2013.

He currently has 5,055 votes, which is more than half of the available votes.
His opponent from Bersatu, Rosmadi Arif, has 3,089 thus far.
Chennah is a mixed constituency, with about 46 percent Malay population, 44 percent Chinese, two percent Indian, and seven percent others.
Unofficial: Harapan bags Balakong, Bandar Baru Klang
7.51pm - Harapan has won Balakong and Bandar Baru Klang, according to unofficial results.
Even though less than 50 percent of votes have been counted, the Harapan candidates have already commanded more than half of the votes, in straight fights against PN.
Harapan also wins the Pandamaran seat in a three-cornered fight against PN and PRM.
Balakong has 55 percent Chinese voters, while Bandar Baru Klang has 68 percent Chinese voters. Pandamaran has 59 percent Chinese voters.
PN set to retain Guar Chempedak, Bkt Kayu Hitam
7.50pm: Alor Setar, Kedah - Unofficial results have PN retaining Guar Chempedak and Bukit Kayu Hitam.
In Guar Chempedak, with 40 out of 58 ballot boxes counted, PN is leading 12,667 votes against 3,884 for BN.
In Bukit Kayu Hitam, PN is leading with 18,901 votes against 6,639 votes for BN with 68 out of 92 ballot boxes counted.
In both seats, PN has bagged more than half of the expected votes.
DAP’s Ng keeps Sekinchan
7.45pm: Sekinchan, Selangor – Four-term Sekinchan incumbent Ng Suee Lim from DAP manages to defend his seat once again.
Based on unofficial results, he has already surpassed more than half the votes in the constituency, with 8,862 votes.
His opponent from Bersatu, Goh Gaik Meng, trails behind with 4,461 votes.
Hulu Kelang: Azmin edges Juwairiya
7.43pm: Bersatu supreme council member Azmin Ali is leading in Hulu Kelang, Selangor in early counting.
He has picked up 2,079 votes against Harapan's Juwairiya Zulkifli.
The number of votes already counted represents just five percent of all registered voters in the urban seat, which has 82 percent Malay voters.
Meanwhile, Harapan's Azmizam Zaman Huri is leading with 1,540 votes in a three-cornered fight against PN and PRM in Pelabuhan Klang.
But it is still in the counting process, with fewer than 8,000 votes counted.
There are 51,907 voters registered in this Malay-majority seat.
More Penang seats for Harapan
7.36pm: Unofficial results show Harapan has picked up three more seats in Penang - Batu Lancang, Bagan Jermal, and Padang Lalang.
Harapan already has more than half the available votes in all three seats.
At this time, in Batu Lancang, Harapan has 18,456 votes to PN’s 1,434.
Bagan Jermal sees Harapan getting 17,881 votes against PN’s 3,120.
Harapan has 17,521 votes in Padang Lalang to PN’s 2,007 votes.
BN trailing behind PN in several Kedah seats
7.35pm: Alor Setar, Kedah - BN is trailing behind PN in a number of seats in Kedah.
With 21 out of 55 ballot boxes counted, Kedah BN chief Mahdzir Khalid has 3,201 votes in Pedu, compared to 6,056 votes for PN.
PN is also leading in Ayer Hitam, Bukit Kayu Hitam, and Bukit Lada.
Harapan-BN supporters gather at WTC, Anwar to arrive at 8pm
7.31pm: World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur - Supporters of the Harapan-BN coalition government have been trickling in since polling ended at 6pm.
It is understood that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and other leaders will arrive at about 8pm.
BN candidate for Dusun Tua Johan Abd Aziz was also spotted entering the hall.
Unofficial: Harapan wins Rahang
7.30pm: Rahang, Negeri Sembilan - Unofficial results have Harapan winning Rahang with 7,562 votes, more than half of the expected turnout.
PN is trailing behind with 2,798 votes.
Harapan has over 18k lead in Balakong
7.25pm: Harapan extends its lead against PN in Balakong, Selangor.
It has picked up 23,676 votes against 4,916 for PN, giving it a lead of 18,760 votes.
This is about 30 percent of all registered voters in the constituency.
Harapan coalition member DAP won the seat in GE14 with a majority of more than 35,000 votes.
Harapan is also pulling wide leads in Kinrara, Bandar Baru Klang and Pandamaran.
Unofficial: Harapan bags Pengkalan Kota
7.23pm: Pengkalan Kota, Penang - Harapan has picked up its second unofficial win in Penang, this time in Pengkalan Kota.
Unofficial results have Harapan leading with 11,506 votes, more than half of the expected voter turnouts.
PN is trailing in the seat with 648 votes.
PAS’ Mohd Amar trailing behind in Panchor
7.21pm – Kelantan PAS deputy chief Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah is trailing behind his Harapan opponent Syed Mohd Alidustur Syed Mohd Zain in Panchor based on an early count of the votes.
The four-term Panchor incumbent currently has 358 votes while Syed Mohd, from PKR, has 434 votes thus far.
In other parts of Kelantan, PAS has an early lead in Kelaboran, Wakaf Bharu, Bunut Payung and Tendong.
PAS has 2,887 votes to BN’s 1,365 in Kelaboran.
Wakaf Bharu shows PAS has 1,066 votes against BN’s 485, Bunut Payong has PAS at 1,539 votes to BN’s 1,089 while in Tendong, PAS has 1,237 votes to BN’s 537.
Unofficial: Harapan wins Komtar
7.20pm: Komtar, Penang - Harapan's Teh Lai Heng has unofficially won in Komtar.
Unofficial results have Teh bagging 7,520 votes, more than half of the expected votes for the seat.
PN's Cheah Kim Huat is lagging behind with 1,556 votes.
Balakong sees Harapan pulling ahead
7.17pm: Harapan's Ong Chun Wei is pulling ahead in Balakong, Selangor with a 10,077 lead against PN's Lai Choon Wen, according to unofficial results trickling in.
Balakong is a large urban constituency with 55 percent Chinese voters, 33 percent Malays, nine percent Indians and two percent other ethnicities.
The number of ballots already counted represent about 20 percent of the total number of voters in this constituency.
In GE14, DAP won the seat with a mega majority of more than 35,000 votes.
Harapan leading in 3 N Sembilan seats
7.15pm: Negeri Sembilan - Harapan has an early lead in three state seats.
In Rahang, it has 5,180 votes, compared to 2,250 for PN.
In Bukit Kepayang, the ruling coalition has 4,813 votes against 942 for PN.
In Bahau, Harapan has 3,558 votes against 770 for PN.
Komtar sees Harapan leading
7.11pm: Komtar, Penang – About 3,500 votes have been counted in Komtar, with Harapan showing an early lead.
DAP’s candidate Teh Lai Heng currently has 2,622 of the votes counted.
PN’s candidate Cheah Kim Huat, from Bersatu, has 718 votes.
Close battle in Sekinchan
7.10pm: Sekinchan, Selangor - Initial unofficial early results show a close battle with PN leading.
PN's Goh Gaik Meng has gained 138 early votes, while Harapan's incumbent Ng Suee Lim has 86 votes.
Sekinchan has 23,936 registered voters in total.
Harapan ahead in Kota Darul Aman
7.08pm: Kota Darul Aman, Kedah - Harapan is leading with 2,203 votes against 1,484 for PN in Kota Darul Aman.
This is about 20 percent of the total number of voters in this urban constituency.
This is a Chinese-majority seat, with 56 percent of voters from this ethnicity.
Incumbent Teh Swee Leong of DAP won the seat in GE14 with an 8,468-vote majority.
Harapan ahead in Jawi
7.07pm: Jawi, Penang – An early count of the votes shows Harapan’s candidate H’ng Mooi Lye leading with 2,658 out of the total 36,601 voters in the constituency.
Meanwhile, PN’s candidate Steven Koh has 821 votes thus far.
DAP in strong early lead for Pengkalan Kota
7.05pm: Pengkalan Kota, Penang - With over 5,500 votes in, which is almost a quarter of registered voters, DAP has a strong early lead in Pengkalan Kota.
According to unofficial results, DAP's Wong Yuee Harng has 5,383 votes, while PN's S Karan Mayan is trailing with 243 votes.
Almost 90 percent of Pengkalan Kota's 21,568 registered voters are Chinese.
Early lead for PN in Dusun Tua
7pm: Dusun Tua, Selangor - The first 2,000 votes from Dusun Tua have PN’s Azhar Hambali in the lead with 1,517 votes.
BN's Johan Abd Aziz is trailing with 520 votes, while Muda's candidate only has 22 votes thus far.
DAP had surrendered the seat to BN after seat negotiations.
Dusun Tua has 74,419 registered voters.
Two more identity theft reports, this time in S’gor
6.55pm: Petaling Jaya, Selangor - Two police reports have been lodged alleging identity theft in the Selangor state election, reports Sinar Harian.
Sungai Buloh district police chief Shafa'aton Abu Bakar says the reports involved two voters at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh dan Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Subang Bestari respectively.

He adds the victims claimed they were unable to cast their ballots after the returning officers at the two polling stations found that votes had been cast using their identity cards earlier.
Earlier, it was reported that three police reports on alleged identity thefts were lodged in Kedah.
Neck-to-neck early results in Derga
6.45pm: Derga, Kedah - Initial unofficial early results in Derga are neck to neck.
PN's Muhamad Amri Wahab has 398 votes, while Harapan's Tan Kok Yew has 363 votes.

Surprisingly, independent candidate Man Basiron is close behind with 282 votes.
However, it is still a long way to go for Derga, which has 37,738 registered voters.
Buses not ferrying phantom voters, but cops
6.40pm: Petaling Jaya, Selangor - Police have denied a video clip circulating on social media claiming that buses ferried phantom voters in the Kedah state election.
State police chief Fisol Salleh says the buses in the clip are those which transported part of the 7,160 police officers and personnel deployed for the polls.

“We rented 34 buses, 24 of which are from outside Kedah, to facilitate the movement of the officers and personnel involved.
“After checking the number plates, we found that the buses in the viral clip are those which we rented,” he is quoted as saying by Utusan Online.
Cops receive 3 identity theft reports in Kedah
6.30pm: Petaling Jaya, Selangor - Police have received three reports on alleged identity theft in the Kedah state election, according to Bernama.
The complainants claim their names and identity cards were used by others to cast ballots.
“In the first case, a woman came to vote at a school in Kulim but the Election Commission official told her she had already been marked as having voted.
“The second case, also in Kulim, involved a male voter while the third, in Kuala Muda, involved another woman,” says Kedah police chief Fisol Salleh.
Police are investigating the matter under Section 7 of the Election Offences Act 1954.
Polling for 6 state elections closes
6pm: Polling for the six state elections has closed.

The Election Commission is not expected to release the 5pm or final turnout rates until after all official results are released.
However, the margin is not expected to increase significantly from 4pm to when polling ended.
The turnout as of 4pm compared to the estimated final turnout in GE15 for each state is as follows:-
Kedah - 4pm: 68 percent; GE15: 75 percent
Kelantan - 4pm: 56 percent; GE15: 69 percent
Terengganu - 4pm: 70 percent; GE15: 78 percent
Penang - 4pm: 67 percent; GE15: 74 percent
Selangor - 4pm: 65 percent; GE15: 79 percent
Negeri Sembilan - 4pm: 62 percent; GE15: 75 percent.
Based on this, it appears that Kelantan, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan may have experienced a noticeable dip in voter turnout.
Meanwhile, turnout in Kedah, Terengganu and Penang may have only reduced by a small margin.
