In response to [#1] F1 bukan di Amerika [/#] by Faizol Halim (March 17) and [#2] Nak jadi juara F1 konon [/#] by Fadel Azed (March 15), I would like to clarify a few things.

First, there is a Formula 1 race in the United States. Last year, it was held in Indianapolis (the so-called motorsport capital of the world), Indiana.

Second, even though there are live telecasts of F1 races in the US, they don't come free. While Nascar, IRL and Cart racing can be watched on free channels such as ABC, Fox, CBS and more, one would have to pay US$25 each month to get a special digital cable package to watch F1 races.

Third, Nascar (stock cars) is not the only major form of racing in the US. Up north and west, most people watch IRL (Indy Racing League) and Cart (champ cars), both of which are open-wheel racing.

Fourth, the cheapest ticket for the US Grand Prix is not US$10, it's US$30.
