I am writing this letter in response to Ronnie Liu's Broga Incinerator- an open letter to Pak Lah . Apart from Liu's stipulated comments, I would like to make some adds-on in general.

As the proposed site for the Broga incinerator sits on a hilly side within a water catchment area that provides drink water supply to most residents in the Klang Valley, it should be pointed out that the plant's highest exit point of emissions would be lower than the surrounding hills.

This will lead to an accumulation of toxic emissions directly into the water catchment area which in turn will have tremendous negative health effects on the population.

The Malaysian public in general should realise that the Broga project may not bring in long-term benefits such as economics of scale, technology know-how, related business ventures or such for the country.

As Malaysians we have to protect our country from outsiders who try to manipulate things for their own agendas. Do not forget what has happened in the past with mega projects. Perwaja is a good example.

At the end of the day, the country will be at losing end for choosing the wrong partner of technology provider to joint venture with. I can guarantee this will also happen with the Broga project as highlighted before in Gov't upset with Japanese incinerator contractor .

It is about time our government change its policy of sticking only with the Japanese to deliver. The latter are not really genuine in imparting their knowledge and skills to the local entity.

There are many good and reliable partners from the West who have far more superior technology in dealing with waste management.
