PAS' steely determination to implement their strange brand of hudud (Islamic penal code) and qisas (retribution/retaliation) laws in Terengganu with the help of the very learned and distinguished former ex-lord president Salleh Abas is certainly cause for alarm for all Malaysians.

This is particularly so for women, non-Muslims, and those at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder.

When it comes to revenge, even the very learned such as Salleh Abas, do not mind stooping to the very lowest to aid, abet and publicly endorse PAS' unIslamic quest to appear Islamic by pursuing their brand of cruel and unjust laws that they have conveniently labelled "Islamic".

It is really sad and almost pathetic that Salleh Abas has allowed himself to be used by PAS when he abets an endeavour that suppresses society's weakest segments. Has Salleh Abas forgotten that Allah hears the prayers of the suppressed?

It will be just a matter of time before PAS with the help of Salleh Abas, concocts creative and crafty ways and means to apply the laws to non-Muslims who after all are kafir (infidels) in the eyes of PAS.

Non-Muslims who support PAS' laws for Terengganu must never forget that they are kafir to PAS and thus will never be accorded the same status as Muslim men and women. For starters, look at what PAS has in store for those guilty of apostasy.
