KPJ Healthcare highlights strong FY2024 performance and transformation progress at 32nd AGM

Kuala Lumpur, 26 June 2025 – KPJ Healthcare Berhad (“KPJ Healthcare” or “the Group”) held its 32nd Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) today, outlining continued progress in its transformation strategy under the KPJ Health System while reporting a solid financial performance for FY2024 and a steady start to FY2025.

In FY2024, KPJ Healthcare invested RM406 million in capital expenditure, a 66% increase compared to the previous year. The investments supported infrastructure upgrades, digital expansion and the launch of its 30th hospital, KPJ Kuala Selangor Specialist Hospital. These initiatives reflect the Group’s long-term strategy to build a future-ready, integrated healthcare system.

At the AGM, Chairman of KPJ Healthcare, Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Ismail Bakar said, “2024 was a pivotal year for KPJ. Beyond our financial results, we continued to advance our transformation journey under the KPJ Health System, a framework that integrates care, education and research. This strategy reinforces our commitment to improving health outcomes and delivering long-term value.”

As the Group continues to execute its transformation agenda, KPJ Healthcare remains focused on building the capabilities required for future growth, particularly in the areas of digitalisation, talent development and integrated care models.

President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare, Chin Keat Chyuan, noted that the Group remains focused on building future-ready capabilities to support sustainable growth. “We are executing long-term strategies to expand our specialist talent pool, enhance research capabilities and embed digital solutions across the organisation. These are critical to delivering better outcomes and positioning KPJ as a leading, integrated healthcare provider in the region,” he said.

In 2024, KPJ continued to strengthen its digital ecosystem through the adoption of smart technologies, AI-assisted diagnostics and enhancements to the KPJ Cares mobile app. The Group also maintained its focus on sustainability, including environmental and community health initiatives under the Klinik Waqaf An-Nur network and progress aligned with KPJ’s Net Zero 2050 aspiration.

Looking ahead, KPJ will advance the development of its Centres of Excellence, strengthen integration across clinical, research and educational pillars while continue optimising hospital operations under the KPJ Health System. As part of this momentum, KPJ is also co-hosting Malaysia International Healthcare (“MIH”) Megatrends 2025 with the Ministry of Health Malaysia, to be held from 25 to 27 November 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Through these collective efforts, the Group remains committed to growing its regional footprint while delivering accessible, high-quality care to communities across the country.
