Sapura Industrial Berhad (SIB) unveiled its new corporate identity, showcasing itself as an independent and distinctive company on 16 April 2025. The new logo launch event was attended by company founder Tan Sri Shamsuddin Abdul Kadir, together with the company’s Board and management team.

“This new logo design represents our bold redefinition and our purpose to be independent and distinctive. We want to establish ourselves as a leading automotive components manufacturer and venture into other high-value businesses such as pharmaceutical manufacturing and EV battery and services,” said SIB Managing Director Datuk Syed Izuan Syed Kamarulbahrin.

SIB was originally part of the Sapura Group but has operated as a standalone company since 2013.

The unveiling of SIB’s new corporate identity also coincided with the company’s 40th anniversary, as Shamsuddin founded the company in 1984 to support the growth of Malaysia’s automotive industry.

SIB Leadership Team took the stage to share insights on the company’s new chapter and future direction during an engaging panel discussion. On stage L-R: Fazal Othman Mohd Ghazali, President, Industrial Business, Mohd Fahmi Md Isa, Head of Manufacturing Business, Datuk Syed Izuan Syed Kamarulbahrin, Managing Director, Liyana Lee Abdullah, Head of Corporate Services, Puan Sri Mariam Parineh, Executive Director, Tan Sri Dr Azmil Khalili Dato’ Khalid, Deputy Chairman

“We want to achieve a global mindset but maintain our local roots and preserve our legacy,” said Syed Izuan.

He also said SIB is planning to bring the company to the next level by expanding market share, moving from metal-based manufacturing to non-metal based manufacturing, and focusing on Research & Development of automotive components.

“The good thing about automotive components made by SIB is that they are used by cars with Internal Combustion Engines (ICEs), electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid cars. We are especially proud of our stabiliser bar,” he said.

He added that the company continues to assess the situation with the ongoing trade tension between the US and China, especially with the impending tariffs imposed by the US.

“Although we are fortunately insulated from the ongoing conflict, we are still assessing the situation as we might be indirectly impacted through our clients,” he said.

To commemorate SIB’s 40-year journey, Tan Sri Shamsuddin Abdul Kadir officiated the cake-cutting ceremony alongside SIB’s board members — a moment that celebrated the milestones and legacy built over four decades.

Meanwhile, SIB executive director Mariam Parineh said the development of SIB's new corporate identity began 3 years ago with many internal discussions with employees on the direction of the company and where it should be headed.

“Our new logo was designed through an internal logo design competition. We are happy to see our employees’ multifaceted talents, and we want to further highlight that our new corporate identity represents humility, integrity and being people-focused,” she said.

She also said that SIB will have engagement activities with external stakeholders to have better and further communications with them.

“We want to continue to be a solutions provider, whether it is component manufacturing, technical training or even investments into EV battery servicing and medical devices manufacturing,” she said.

She added that the new corporate identity brings a new lens into its innovation department, as SIB has a strong Research & Development team that can help engineer high-quality precision components for the automotive industry.
