Kuala Selangor, 14 April 2025 - KPJ Healthcare Berhad (“KPJ Healthcare” or “the Group”) today officially launched its 30th hospital, KPJ Kuala Selangor Specialist Hospital (“KPJKS”), reinforcing the Group’s commitment to expanding access to private specialist healthcare in Malaysia’s growing communities beyond major city centres.

Officiated by Minister of Health Malaysia, YB Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, the ceremony was also attended by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Ismail Bakar, Chairman of KPJ Healthcare, alongside members of the Board of Directors and senior management. The launch marks a strategic milestone in KPJ’s nationwide network, bringing specialist services to a district historically underserved by the private sector.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Ismail Bakar, Chairman of KPJ Healthcare said, “This launch is more than the opening of a new facility, it reflects our ongoing commitment to bring quality care closer to local communities that need it most. We are growing with purpose, guided by our promise of Care for Life and the shared values that define our services - Committed, Accountable, Respectful and Excellence. Our goal is not only to expand our reach, but to help build a healthcare system that is fairer, stronger and truly accessible to every Malaysian.

KPJKS began operations on 22 March 2025, and is the first and only multidisciplinary private hospital in Kuala Selangor. With 60 beds, KPJKS offers services across multiple disciplines including internal medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ENT, ophthalmology, radiology, anaesthesiology, gastroenterology and hepatology. The hospital currently operates with 14 resident consultants and 8 sessional consultants, supported by a team of 188 personnel comprising medical officers, nurses, allied health professionals and support staff.

YB Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad (Kanan), Minister of Health Malaysia accompanied by Chin Keat Chyuan (Tengah), President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare Berhad and Siti Tettie Hidayati Mohyi (Second from Left), Chief Executive Officer of KPJ Kuala Selangor during the hospital facilities tour.

The facility features advanced diagnostic and treatment infrastructure, including a 1.5 Tesla MRI system, a 160-slice CT Scanner, full-field digital mammography and the Super Inductive System (“SIS”) for non-invasive pain management therapy using high-intensity electromagnetic fields. Other key features include four ICU beds, two fully equipped Operating Theatres, a Scope Room and dedicated Daycare beds.

Designed with care and functionality in mind, KPJKS offers a modern healing environment complemented by thoughtful interiors and natural surroundings, ensuring both patients and care teams experience comfort alongside clinical excellence.
