BigLedger Sdn Bhd (BigLedger) has been fully accredited by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) as a Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line (PEPPOL) Service Provider.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo presented the certificate to BigLedger CEO Vincent Lee Hong Fay at the National E-Invoicing Open Day held recently in Kuala Lumpur, with the occasion being witnessed by LHDNM Deputy CEO (Tax Operations) Shaharrudy bin Othman and MDEC CEO Mahadhir Aziz.
As a PEPPOL Authority, MDEC plays the role of accrediting Malaysia’s PEPPOL service providers and PEPPOL ready solution providers, specifying local requirements and technical standards, governing the overall PEPPOL framework compliance and promote the business adoption of e-invoicing in Malaysia.
PEPPOL, in turn, is a global framework designed to standardise electronic procurement processes and facilitate seamless cross-border transactions.
By becoming a fully accredited PEPPOL service provider, BigLedger is now authorised to enable Malaysian businesses to connect to the PEPPOL network, ensuring their e-invoicing systems are compatible with international standards.
This accreditation marks a significant milestone for BigLedger, positioning it as a key player in the digital transformation of Malaysia’s business landscape.
“This PEPPOL accreditation is an apt reflection of BigLedger’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and compliance for local businesses through cutting-edge technology solutions,” said Vincent, adding that it is extremely relevant especially for local businesses conducting business beyond Malaysian shores ahead of the Malaysia’s national e-invoicing initiative known as MyInvois.
Starting this year, this initiative mandates all businesses to transition to electronic invoicing, aiming to enhance tax efficiency and support the country’s digital economy growth, and marks a significant shift in invoicing and taxation submission processes with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (‘IRBM’ or ‘LHDNM’).
With e-Invoice implementation, businesses must issue e-invoices for all transactions, which must be created in machine readable formats specified by the LHDNM, which is XML or JSON. These e-invoices include various mandatory fields covering seller and buyer information, item descriptions, quantities, prices, taxes, total amounts, payment details and Tax Identification Numbers (TIN).
BigLedger’s Vincent, in his presentation, encouraged local organisations to embrace a ‘Data Hub’ infrastructure model to realise greater efficiencies and productivity.
