Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI)

The Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI) is the fourth center in the MIT Global SCALE (Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence) Network. The institute was launched as a joint initiative between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the government of Malaysia on March 22, 2011.

Established to become the supply chain thought leader in region, MISI aims to constantly redefine the state-of-the-art of supply chain management theory and practice. Specifically, the THREE integrated objectives of MISI are:

  • Deliver best-in-class Graduate and Executive Education Programs;
  • Conduct applied research that meets the highest international standards of academic rigor; and
  • Actively engage industry to create and disseminate cutting edge supply chain knowledge.

MIT GLOBAL SCALE NETWORK

The MIT Global SCALE (Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence) network is an international alliance of leading-edge research and education centers, dedicated to the development and dissemination of global innovation in supply chain and logistics.

The Global SCALE Network comprises the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL) in Boston, USA; Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) in Zaragoza, Spain; Center for Latin American Logistics Innovation (CLI) in Bogotá, Colombia; and Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI) in Shah Alam, Malaysia. Collectively, the SCALE Network now spans four continents. The primary objectives of the MIT Global SCALE Network is to expand MIT CTL’s global reach, create supply chain leaders through world class education, drive supply chain innovation through research and constantly engage industry in creating latest supply chain knowledge.

Part Time M.Sc. in Supply Chain Management (PSCM)

MISI executive development programs are short training courses that cover a wide range of pertinent supply chain topics which will be conducted throughout the year. MISI programs, which are highly interactive, embrace the Action Learning principles. Course content will be delivered through the use of lectures, workshops, simulations, games, case studies, discussions, etc and will emphasize on practical application in real-life situations.

The Supply Chain Leadership and Innovation Program (SCLIP) is the latest program from the MIT Global SCALE Network to address the rapidly emerging need to enhance supply chain management talent and prepare leaders who value:

  • Theory for devising meaningful innovative solutions.
  • A global mindset while focusing on local idiosyncrasies.

The SCLIP program is a specifically designed for supply chain professionals seeking new ways to manage their rapidly expanding responsibilities and rising expectations. SCLIP promotes a different ‘way of thinking’ that creates an innovative mindset to deal with business problems in a practical yet principled and holistic manner. MISI Resident Program

The MISI Resident Program is an individually designed program to suit academic requirements, of a specific University or Institute, and is typically held during a five day school week period (Monday to Friday). The program aims to deliver a selection of academic lectures, Supply chain management simulation games and industry visits within what is a very unique Supply Chain Management program aimed to develop a comprehensive understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
