KINI ROUNDUP Here are the key headlines you may have missed yesterday, in brief.

Dr M-Nazri exchange jabs ahead of debate

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad poked fun at Tourism and Culture Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz for keeping silent during their awkward but cordial meeting in Kuala Kangsar.

Nazri later explained that he had kept silent because he expected the former prime minister to ask questions but none were forthcoming.

Nazri also defended against Mahathir's attack that his constituency of Padang Rengas lacked development, stating that he was not mad to build 30-storey condominiums in the rural town.

Lawyers believe the planned debate between Mahathir and Nazri falls under the Peaceful Assembly Act 212 and that the police have no power to ban the function if a 10-day notice is provided.

Barisan Rakyat to replace Harapan?

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said he will consult with Pakatan Harapan partners on changing the coalition's name to "Barisan Rakyat" as proposed by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin, who made the proposal in a speech, has also vowed not to return to Umno even if Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak were to resign.

The tiff between Lim and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan continued with both trading insults.

Jong-nam's body moved

The body of Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was reportedly moved from the morgue to Cheras for religious rites.

The move came amid Health Minister Dr S Subramaniam saying that the government would announce "very very soon" on what it planned to do with Jong-nam's body.
