Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown has denied that she was the source of Wall Street Journal's report claiming Saudi Arabian Oil Co (Saudi Aramco) was pulling out of a joint project with Petronas to build an oil refinery in Pengerang, Johor.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan claimed this when rubbishing WSJ's report which cited sources.
"I can confirm that Rahman is not for the first time entirely incorrect in his statement that I was a source in this particular story. I would have also published it myself if I had been.
"Rahman has proved to be so consistently unreliable in his pronouncements that I advise all newspapers to seek separate corroboration of his remarks or better still to cease quoting him at all," she told Malaysiakini...
