Ability to rule not exactly PAS ulama strength

YOURSAY ‘Under Hadi, PAS has already lost Terengganu, Kedah...’

Pro-Hadi group walks out on Mat Sabu's speech

Ferdtan: Is this how the PAS Youth members and its ulama faction in the party behave (to walk out on the deputy president’s speech at the party’s muktamar)? If they don't respect their top leader, Mohamad (Mat) Sabu, at least respect the chair.

There is no discipline among these conservative members; it is like they own the party. Do you see the moderates issuing unbecoming statements? No, it is always these religious guys.

By the look of it, there is no way the two groups can work together. So we call upon the moderates and all those PAS members who want to be with Pakatan Rakyat to stand up and tackle this problem once and for all. No more dilly-dallying.

It is time for the moderates to seize control of the party from the Umno-friendly faction. The numbers are with them at the muktamar. The ulamas don’t have it.

Divorce, though painful, is the best solution for PAS to move on. Otherwise Putrajaya remains a dream. We need a ‘Jokowi’ in PAS.

Basically: Party president Abdul Hadi Awang's gang is a disgrace to PAS and their Islamic credentials.

It's simple, either you are for Pakatan - to build a better country for all, Muslims and non-Muslims - or you are for staying as Umno's poorer cousin, forever shouting from the benches as a backwater opposition party while the people you call ‘haram’ run this country to the ground.

It's really a no-brainer. I thought PAS members had brains.

U-Say I-Say: It is a blessing that we are seeing the real PAS before the next general election. Like all political parties, there are gentlemen and there are scoundrels and we now know who is who in PAS.

We thank Hadi for showing his true colours. The reported walkout on Mat Sabu can only happen if sponsored by some senior leaders, especially those aligned to him.

This is a very strong sign that Mat Sabu and the professionals are on the rise while the sun is setting on an uninspiring and untrustworthy leader.

Malaysian 53: Congratulations to Mat Sabu and the moderates. Only 50 out of 700 walked out? Pathetic support for the pathetic PAS president.

It looks like the party is doomed and PasMa (Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera Malaysia) is trying to keep them relevant. If they do not reform, they will be relegated to the sidelines in Kelantan. Without abilities, you cannot rule a state. Hadi can confirm this first hand after his one-term stint in Terengganu.

Gaji Buta: When are the moderates or Erdogans in PAS going to awaken and realise that they are in the wrong place?

It is clear that the only reason for PAS existence is to form an Islamic state and to impose hudud.

If the moderates join PKR or DAP, or form a new party, they will probably get more support from all races and religions, but be clear on what your vision or purpose is, other than to topple BN.

PAS Youth chief warns fortress Kelantan may fall

Anonymous_5fb: In the name of Islam, the ulama in PAS justified back-stabbing their friends in Pakatan, breached their promises to the people.

Yet, they claimed they are religious and did all these in the name of Islam. What an irony. PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat, you are right with your analysis. If not for the Erdogans, PAS would be long gone.

Anonymous$&@?: PAS brought it upon themselves if they lose Kelantan. Blame no one but yourselves. How do you expect people to see PAS after the backstabbing of Pakatan in Selangor by Hadi and his ulama.

Golfer63: From what I heard in Kota Bharu from a Malay couple who were former PAS supporters, high youth unemployment rate has led to drug abuse and subsequent criminal activities. If only there were more jobs, they said.

Onyourtoes: I have long held the view that Kelantan was badly managed despite decades under PAS and respected party spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat.

You just don't allow capable people with ideas to develop the state. All you have are mullahs who think they know everything when they actually know nothing.

Look at Kota Bharu. In what ways is it different from Tawau, Alor Setar or Sandakan? What Islamic city? It is dirty, disorderly, haphazard and dilapidated, just like any other city in the country.

I know. Blame the federal government; that is all what you are good at. I don’t see social mobilisation. I don’t see mental change and I don’t see oomph in Kelantan.

Anonymous_40f4: With the untrustworthy flip-flop president Hadi, PAS has already lost Terengganu, Kedah, Perak and will definitely lose Kelantan in GE14 to Umno Baru.

Hadi behaves childishly in the Selangor menteri besar saga, making it easier for Umno Baru to manipulate the MB issue behind the gates.
