DAP's local council polls promise like a sandcastle
ADS

DAP is now very much obligated to explain to the people on how it plans to fulfill its election promises on having local government elections, since its Pakatan comrade PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has firmly stated his opposition to the proposal.

The scenario clearly showed that DAP’s pre-election promises are easily washed away just like sandcastles on the beach. DAP is fond of making all kinds of promises before it came into power, to win the people’s hearts without even considering its feasibility.

Now, the simple fact is that, after going through two general elections and taking control of three state governments, they are still unable to implement local government polls.

The Penang state government - instead of admitting that they are not able to implement the local council polls unless they made an attempt to amend the constitutions - as usual, pushed the blame to the federal government.

Interestingly, the implementation of hudud laws was not in the Pakatan common policy framework, even though PAS has never denied that it is its ultimate goal.

Now it is further made clear by PAS that local government polls - that had been promised by DAP - was also never a part of the Pakatan common policy framework.

Thus, it is obvious that Pakatan parties had only bonded before the last two general elections for the sole purpose of taking over the control of the country, without taking into consideration of common directions to rule the country.

DAP has always made promises in the blink of an eye with no respect towards the democratic process.

But even more surprising is, why had the topic of local government polls been raised at this time when PAS was planning to table its Private Member’s Bill on hudud law in Kelantan?

Is the coincidental timing in raising this issue meant to be a distraction from PAS’ hudud agenda?
